Great Place To Work
Let’s hear from Robyn…
How It Began
Hi I’m Robyn, I work in the finance and business team at C-Change Scotland. I first started here was a was 20 years old (that’s 12 years ago!)
Where It Started
I spent some time supporting Dates and Mates as well as C-Change before C-Change offered me a more permanent admin role.
I loved the C-Change side of my role as there was room to grow and develop and learn new things, enhancing my personal skills and understanding
Developing My Skills
In 2014 some changes meant I could undertake a role purely within c-change with more responsibility, I was organising and coordinating training and development. I really enjoyed this role and learning more about the organisation.
Changing Times
In 2017 as part of a restructure the finance and business team was created and my role evolved again into area finance and business.
Then Jan 2020 hit and Covid brought about big changes in our team with myriad of challenges but the upshot was we got lots of work done! Project work was in some ways easier to do remotely without interruption and we adapted to a new way of working which would now be know as Hybrid.
I’ve seen lots of changes in the team, – I think Heather and Grace might be my longest serving colleagues, alongside Lesley (and of course Sam).
Opportunities For Growth
I have had the opportunity to develop my skills through opportunities like a college course in admin and IT, the Kinharvie training and now through the Open Uni – looking at modules in human rights and law.
Personal
I have seen C-Change through a lot of different prisms, met a whole host of different people and grown in skills and confidence in myself in my role. I have embraced the human-rights based approach and widening my understanding of the sector and the challenges. Roll on the next twelve years ha ha!
