The Friendship Event
Published: January 30, 2014
C-Change & dates-n-mates staff & volunteers attended and worked at The Friendship Event conference at The Arches in Glasgow on Thursday 30th of January.
This was a great day of talks, workshops as well as getting to meet new people, exploring the theme of friendship & learning disability.
This event was the first in a whole year of Scotland wide events on friendships and relationships hosted by Equal Futures in partnership with the Scottish Government. Among a few other organisations C-Change & dates-n-mates also had a hand in the organising of this event.
On the day we heard from speakers such as Michael Matheson (Minister for Public Health) & Steve Robertson (Director of People First Scotland). There was also a great speech from our dates-n-mates Director Holly Miller along with Dee Flanigan of the Scottish Human Rights Commission.
