The 15th C-Change Scotland Board of Directors Annual General Meeting (AGM) & Open Board took place on Tuesday 12th of July 2016.

This years AGM was part of our 15 Year Celebration.

We celebrated stories of positive change in the lives of the people we work for as well as the history and journey of C-Change and dates-n-mates through talks and videos.

We would like to thank Frances Brown of our Board of Directors for her talk on how C-Change started 15 years ago. We would also like to thank dates-n-mates Director John Paul Moffat for his talk about the launch of dates-n-mates over 8 years ago and how far the project has come since.

A huge thanks goes to Personal Development Worker Steph Murphy for his heartfelt and very touching talk about his time supporting a wonderful man we work for called Tony. A special thanks also goes to Tony for his wonderful artwork used for our 15 Year Celebration Thank You Cards – these were launched at the event.

Those attending also heard stories from two of the wonderful people we work for in Aberdeen, William & Sandy via video as well as a promotional video for dates-n-mates.

We also showed an exclusive prototype of our upcoming Annual Report designed by our wonderful volunteer Garry and a photo collage showing the highlights from the last year of C-Change & dates-n-mates.

Big thanks to our dates-n-mates Glasgow Membership & Volunteer Project Worker Molly for making a fabulous and delicious cake for the event. Big thanks also to Photographer Brian Carroll.

dates-n-mates Scotland at T In The Park 2016

This July, dates-n-mates Scotland were breaking new ground by being represented at Scotland’s largest Music festival T In The Park. The team had an information stand at the this years festival – which attracted over 80.000 music fans to Strathallan Castle in Perthshire from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th of July.

Our team of dates-n-mates staff and volunteers spoke to loads of revellers, many of whom were very enthusiastic about the work we do and the benefits we bring to our members. Various dates-n-mates members were part of the team for each of the three days – their enthusiasm about dates-n-mates definitely came across!

We had a Club LATE themed photo-booth which proved very popular! People gave a £2 donation for an instant print which included our social media details for people to find out more about us later and tag themselves online.

As well as dates-n-mates being represented at the festival, we had 7 members attending on the Saturday. Members were supported by two of our wonderful volunteers, Dawn & Laura – feedback from the group was they all had a blast!

dates-n-mates member Andrew McCartney said “I’ve just been at the most amazing festival ’T In The Park’ with dates-n-mates! it’s an amazing festival and full of fun! I got to see Tinie Tempah, Jess Glynne, Kaiser Chiefs, and Bastille – they were all amazing! I found the festival very safe and friendly. Bring on T in The Park 2017!”
